EC Molecular formula: EC 1.1.3.4

Description

Glucose oxidase (EC 1.1.3.4), an oxidoreductase enzyme, is produced through submerged fermentation of high-performance Aspergillus niger strains, followed by multi-stage downstream purification. This product enhances animal health by improving gut integrity, suppressing pathogenic infections (bacterial and protozoal), potentiating therapeutic efficacy, inhibiting mycotoxin biosynthesis, and optimizing nutrient absorption to elevate livestock productivity.

Mechanism of Action

GOD synergizes with endogenous catalase (EC 1.11.1.6) to establish a controlled redox cycle:

1. Oxidation Phase: GOD catalyzes β-D-glucose oxidation in the presence of oxygen, yielding glucono-δ-lactone (GDL) and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂).

2. Detoxification Phase: Catalase decomposes H₂O₂ into water and molecular oxygen, mitigating oxidative stress.

3. Acidification: GDL spontaneously hydrolyzes to gluconic acid, creating an acidic intestinal environment.

Key Functions

1. Pathogen Control

   - Inhibits Clostridium, E. coli, and Coccidia via H₂O₂-mediated bactericidal effects and pH modulation.

   - Preserves commensal microbiota (e.g., Lactobacillus) through selective pressure.

2. Mycotoxin Risk Mitigation

   - Disrupts aflatoxin biosynthesis pathways in Aspergillus spp. via oxidative stress induction.

3. Nutrient Utilization Enhancement

   - Reduces intestinal redox potential (-Eh), improving mineral (Fe²⁺, Zn²⁺) solubility and amino acid absorption.

   - Mimics organic acidifiers by sustaining luminal pH 4.0–5.5.

4. Therapeutic Adjuvant

   - Augments antibiotic efficacy against biofilm-embedded pathogens through oxidative disruption.
